Welcome to December!!!
It feels like just the other day it was beautiful outside and we were getting our mowers ready to mow the grass. We had a pretty lucky November with the weather but it looks like it will finally be changing. I woke up this morning to single digits and a light shine of ice on the lake. With it being beautiful to look at it also means one other thing… Fishing derby is getting closer and closer. We have a long ways to go until we can actually put 1000 people on the ice but it has to start somewhere.
November was a pretty great month for us. Lots of people coming into say hello and play all the games we have available. Veterans day went off great. I couldn’t believe how many people I haven’t seen in a long time come out to have a meal on the day. Thank you to everyone who helped out with that amazing day and congratulations to the recipients of the quilt of valor’s. I know none of them were expecting them when the received them.
December is shaping up to be a fun filled month. I always love December because that means we get to give gifts away to kids. Its hard to not enjoy a day like that. Santa will be on scene as well which makes it even better as well. December 3rd is the date for that so make sure you bring your kids.
A few other notable dates coming up is the past presidents dinner on Dec, 8th and the customer appreciation day on Dec, 30th. Make sure you come out for that one as well.
With that I hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year and look forward to seeing everyone at our Park Rapids American Legion.
