Hello fellow Legionnaires,
It’s September now, and I hope everyone had a fantastic summer. With the cooler weather bringing a calming down of the Park Rapids area, the leaves will soon be changing colors, and I’m not going to say what comes after that. We will be coming into the hunting season, so if you are a hunter, please be careful and enjoy the time you get with your fellow hunting parties.
Things around the Legion have been going well and the place has been fairly busy. Backyard Bash was a great time, and I hope you all got to come out for that. The School Reunion was at the same time, so we teamed up with that crew and had so many people at the legion that night, it was amazing. I hope you all had a great time. Thanks again to everyone who helped support that event and made it possible.
This upcoming month will bring some things as well. Along with the normal stuff that we have every month, just a few reminders. Coffee with Vets is Sept. 9th. If you are a Vet and want to just chat with fellow Vets, please stop out for that one. The Farmers Market still has a few Saturdays left in the year, so make sure if you haven’t been to one yet, you stop out and say hello to the Legion or other Veteran groups running the tent. September 19th will be the SAL meatball dinner starting at 4:30. I love that event. Those guys sure know how to make some good food. Don’t miss that one!!!
Another great event that is starting this month is… You guessed it, Viking football Sundays!!! There is always a potluck lunch or dinner, depending on the time of the game. Along with the other banquets and events coming in September, the back room will be pretty busy, so make sure you keep an eye on the Park Rapids American Legion website, Facebook, or Instagram pages, links below, to avoid missing one of the good events coming up.
