May Newsletter – Post Commander

Where does the time go? It is May already and it seems like it was just January!!

Many thanks to everyone that participated in the fish fry events and to those that joined us for the great food! Without our fabulous customers and volunteers, these events would not take place. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

April was a busy month and May is showing up to be the same!!

  • The All Vets Memorial is looking for volunteers to assist with their spring cleaning on May 2nd – 3rd. If you can assist, please contact Everette DeCramer or Charlis Carroll for additional information.
  • Ducks Unlimited banquet is on Saturday, May 3rd along with the Kentucky Derby party and potluck. There will also be an opportunity to purchase tickets for an upcoming bourbon tasting event.

  • Please note that the club will close at 3pm on May 11th for carpet cleaning. We still need a few more volunteers to help move bar furniture before the cleaning starts later that day. Please contact the Commander or Todd if you can spare an hour around 4pm. Thanks in advance for helping out!

  • We need volunteers to help place and retrieve flags for Memorial Day. If you can assist with placement on Thursday, May 22 (rain date will be Friday, May 23), or retrieval beginning May 27th, please contact your Commander, President or an Officer.
  • Saturday, May 24 kicks off the Park Rapids Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9am – 1pm. The Legion Family, DAV Auxiliary and All Vets Memorial will be participating by setting up a booth on select Saturdays. Free tokens for kids, seniors, and Vets will be available that can be used to purchase produce at the market. We hope you will visit the Market and our booth. Also take note that during the Farmers Market season, May 24 – Sept 20, the club will open at 10am on Saturdays.
  • A big day is planned for Memorial Day on May 26th. We hope you will make plans to come join us for the presentation at Century School, the Red Bridge, the All Vets Memorial, and the luncheon at the club after the activities.

A great month to get involved! Please take advantage of one or more of these opportunities.

Together, we can make a difference!
