MAY we remember…..
There is much to honor in May.
Thursday, May 1 is May Day, which is a reminder of the profound beauty that blossoms when we open our hearts to both give and receive!
Saturday, May 3 is a fun day with the Kentucky Derby watch at 5 p.m. Get ready for the upcoming Bourbon Tasting event, Bourbon samples will be available and it’s a potluck starting at 3 p.m.
Friday, May 9 is Poppy Day in Park Rapids. The poppy reminds us of the sacrifices made by so many brave men and women. I’d like to ask the American Legion Post, Auxiliary members, Riders, and Sons of the American Legion, as well as community individuals to volunteer and distribute poppies and collect donations. I will have a sign-up sheet at the Legion. Please stop in and put your name in a time slot and where you would like to distribute. The Poppy funds collected go directly to our veterans in Park Rapids. Thank you in advance.
Monday, May 11 is Mother’s Day! A mother’s love is special and irreplaceable. Mother’s Day is a time to acknowledge her!
Tuesday, May 13 Is the monthly Auxiliary meeting at 6:30. We will be electing our new officers for the 2025-2026 year. Come join us!
Monday, May 26 is Memorial Day. A memorial service is being planned for that morning at the Century School, followed by a wreath placing from the Red Bridge, a service at the All-Vets Memorial and concluding with a free lunch at the Legion. This is always a wonderful program and I encourage everyone to join us.
The American Legion is going to be part of the Farmers Market. Stop in each Saturday and check out our booth!
For more information, check out the American Legion website!
May our hearts be filled with gratitude for those who stood on the front lines, most likely in fear, yet displaying extraordinary courage, and valor.
Thank you for all your dedicated work and volunteer spirit!
For God and Country, Auxiliary President, Dorothy Pierzinski
