Before we get into June, I’d like to wrap up a couple things in May! Thank you again to everybody that took time to distribute poppies and every one of you that made a donation to the Poppy fund. This truly is a GIVING community!
On Memorial Day, we honored the men and women who gave their final sacrifice for our nation! We also gave recognition to the legion family volunteers of the year!
The Post volunteer of the year is Kevin Burns, the Auxiliary volunteer of the year is Lynn Spilman and the SAL volunteer of the year is Virgil Eskola. Congratulations to each and every one of you!!
This award will be given out each year at the Memorial Day luncheon.
Now on to June! It is time for new leadership! Please join us for the joint Legion Family installation with the Post, Auxiliary, and SAL on Tuesday June 10th . It will start with happy hour at 5pm, potluck dinner starting at 6pm and short meetings to follow with installation at 7pm.
Congratulations go out to Erin Hensel, our new Auxiliary President!!! Erin and her team will do a great job of leading all of us.
Flag Day is June 14 and the Americanism team is hosting a brunch and talking about flag etiquette. This program will start at 10:30am followed by a light brunch and open to the public. Come join us!
Sunday June 15th is Father’s Day. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers of this Legion Family.
It is bittersweet to write this last newsletter! I certainly appreciated the opportunity to have led this unit. I am so grateful to all of you that made the past two years very memorable! I look forward to supporting Erin and her team and to continue working with everyone to help veterans!
Thank you for your dedicated work and volunteer spirit!!
