Auxiliary President Newsletter October 2026

“The early bird gets the worm.” It is time for the Early Bird dinner! Get those dues paid now so you don’t forget. We are trying something different this year. A new date and time!  The dinner will be held on SUNDAY, October 4th from 11-2. “The early bird can have the worm because worms are gross and mornings are overrated.” So, come on out and enjoy a delicious ham dinner (free with your paid membership or $15.00 for non-members).

Don’t forget that October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In the U.S. over 38,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Mammograms are still the most reliable test for detection. Ladies, don’t delay. Schedule your mammogram today! We have the nicest couple of ladies in the radiology department at the hospital and they give you a warm robe to wear. It really is not a bad experience. And you get a bag of candy for being a good patient! Wear that pink proudly in October to raise breast cancer awareness, promote early detection, show support for breast cancer patients, and participate in fundraising opportunities. Men should wear pink too! In the U.S. 2,600 men are diagnosed annually with over 500 dying yearly. Although breast cancer is rare in men, they have a 19% higher mortality rate than women. My message to everyone; Be aware and take care!

For God and Country,

Erin Hensel

Auxiliary President
