American Legion Post 212

August Newsletter

Hello Legion Family

August is upon us already. As the days start to get shorter already, it always seems like there is still one more thing to do outside, but never enough time. The up side is September is right around the corner, and with it comes all the fall hunting and fishing opportunities we are lucky enough to enjoy in our area. I hope everyone is doing their best to stay safe out there. Every day brings something new to adjust to in this new normal we are dealing with, but life doesn’t stop, so we keep moving forward. Remember to do buddy checks, even if we can’t go meet face to face, a simple phone call might brighten someone’s day that can’t get out like they used to.

August is a big month for the Post, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Post 212. We will have a little celebration at the September membership meeting. We are currently looking for a new bar manager, as well as someone to chair the fishing derby.  Jerry says it’s time to relax a little. If you or someone you know is interested in either position please contact the post. We would like to have both positions filled by early September so the new manager can train in with Jerry and the derby planning needs to start soon as February will be here before we know it.
